Sean Fetterman

Hello! Thank you for stopping by. Today, I am giving you a sneak peek into some of the fun to come next Saturday, November 11 for a day full of Christmas Cards using Hero Arts stamps, cardstock, inks, embellishments and more!

Here's how I created this card project:

1. Using Gina K Designs 120 lb Base Weigh White card stock, I made an A2 sized card base.

2. Cut out a piece of 5 1/8" X 3 3/4" layer of blue card stock from the Hero Arts Sea Mix Layering Papers. Cut a piece of Gina K Designs 5/8" White/Gold Fancy ribbon that is slightly longer horizontally than the vertical of the blue card stock and adhere it to the layer (centered).

3.  To make the frame for the shaker, I used two Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts Stitched Rectangles Frames Dies. I placed them together on the die cutting plate on top of the Gina K Designs 80 lb Layering Weight White card stock and ran it through the die cutting machine.

4. Cut out a piece of 4 1/2" X 3" of Hot Off The Press Heat Resistant Acetate and a piece of 4 1/2" X 3" of Gina K Designs 80 lb Layering Weight White card stock.

5. Take the Hero Arts Snowy Scene stamp, flip it so that the rubber side is facing up. Then, take the Hero Arts Ombre Mermaid ink

6. Apply inked stamp to card stock layer and apply pressure. Because this stamp is thicker in terms of the overall image, I tend to apply slightly more pressure and leave the stamp on the paper for a few more seconds to allow the ink to fully transfer over from the stamp.

7. Adhere Crafty Foam Tape by Scrapbook Adhesives all around the perimeter of the stamped layer. Cut of any excess.

8. Use some artificial snow or sparkles to simulate snow. I used Crafty Sparkles. It does not appear that they are made any longer.

9. Emboss the sentiment on the Heat Resistant Acetate. I used the
Gina K Designs Fine Detail White Embossing powder.

10. Adhere the frame to the acetate and place on top of the stamped layer with the crafty foam tape. I used my Glue Dots Adhesive tape runner.

11. On the back of the shaker layer, place a pop up square in each corner to adhere the shaker to the blue layer on the front of the card. I am using the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares.

12. Adhere the shaker layer to the card base.

Autumn Blessings
Hero Arts Card Tutorial

Thank you for stopping by. I am pleased to be showing you a quick tutorial with a stamp set from one of my most favorite stamping companies and one that I will be using a lot coming up!

My natural tendencies in making cards is clean and simple. Hero Arts products are a goldmine when it comes to providing the best products for this technique! That's why they have quickly become a 'must have' in my collection!

For today's card, I wanted to focus on the many beautiful colors all around us. It is fall so you know what that means......Autumn/Fall cards. Let's look at this wonderful card that I made with Hero Arts CM 191 Color Layering Autumns Trees. This set is so much fun because it is so versatile!

The supplies I used for this card project are:

  • CM191 Color Layering Autumn Trees
  • Sunshine Mix Layering Papers
  • Hero Arts Ombre Ink
  • Inks from the Autumn mix: Red Royal, Just Rust, Cocoa and Tangelo
Step 1:
  • Take the darkest color cardstock in the Sunshine Mix and make an A2 card base.

Step 2:
  • Mount the tree trunk stamp on to a stamping block.
  • Apply Cocoa ink to the stamp.
  • Apply stamp to cardstock.

Step 3:
  • There are three different stamps with different variations of leaves. One has a large amount of leaves, one has a moderate amount and the last has the least amount of leaves. For step 3, we are going to use the stamp with the largest amount of leaves.
  • Mount the stamp on to a stamping block.
  • Apply Ombre ink to the stamp either vertically or horizontally based on the three ink pad strips contained in the ink pad.
  • Apply stamp to cardstock.

Step 4:
  • For step 4, we are going to use the stamp with the moderate amount of leaves.
  • Mount the stamp on to a stamping block.
  • Apply Red Royal ink to the stamp.
  • Apply stamp to cardstock on top of the first stamped leaves image to create an added second dimension of colored leaves.

Step 5:
  • For step 5, we are going to use the stamp with the least amount of leaves.
  • Mount the stamp on to a stamping block.
  • Apply Just Rust and Tangerine ink to the stamp.
  • Apply stamp to cardstock on top of the second stamped leaves image to create an added third dimension of colored leaves.

Step 6:
  • Mount the "Autumn Blessings" stamp on to a stamping block.
  • Apply Red Royal ink to the stamp.
  • Cut out a small strip of cardstock slightly larger in width than the cardstock used for the image for the focal image and approximately 1/2 inch in height.
  • Apply stamp to the center of the small strip of cardstock.

Step 7:
  • Cut out a piece of cardstock that is a shade lighter than the base. This layer can be as wide as you like on all sides as long as it makes a proportionate layer and displays the color of the cardstock.
  • Adhere the focal image to the colored layered cardstock. I am using the new Glue Dots adhesive tape runner.
  • Adhere the small strip containing the sentiment on bottom of the focal image cardstock that is proportionate on both sides (left and right side).

Step 8:
  • Using the iCraft 3D Foam Squares by Therm O Web, adhere the layered cardstock to the card base.

Now you are done!
